　　Long ago and far away， there lived a princess. On her birthday， she said： “I want a ball made of gold.” So a craftsman (工匠) made her a gold ball.

　　很久很久以前，在很遠(yuǎn)的地方，住著一位公主。在她生日那天，她說：“我想要一個(gè)金球。于是一個(gè)工匠給她做了一個(gè)金球。

　　One day， the princess was playing with her ball. But the ball fell into the pond. “I lost my ball made of gold！” she said. She began to cry.

　　一天，公主正在玩她的球。但是球掉進(jìn)了池塘。“我的金球丟了！””她說。她哭了起來。

　　A small frog jumped over to the princess. “I can get your ball back，” the frog said. “But you must promise to be my friend.” “Easy！” said the princess. “I will do that.”

　　一只小青蛙向公主跳過去。“我可以把你的球拿回來。”青蛙說。“但是你必須答應(yīng)做我的朋友。“簡單！”公主說。“我會(huì)的。”

　　So the frog jumped into the pond. He got the ball back. “Now we will be friends，” he said. The princess grabbed (搶) the ball. She did not say “thank you” to the frog. “Hey！” said the frog. “What about your promise？” But the princess just ran away.

　　于是青蛙跳進(jìn)了池塘。他把球拿了回來。“現(xiàn)在我們將成為朋友，”他說。公主搶過了球。她沒有對(duì)青蛙說“謝謝”。“嘿！青蛙說。“你的諾言呢？”但是公主卻跑掉了。

　　That night， as the princess ate her supper， she heard a sound. The queen opened the door. It was the frog！ “Good evening，” he said. “I want the princess to be my friend. She promised me，” said the frog. “I can’t be friends with a cold， wet frog！” said the princess. “A promise is a promise，” said the queen.

　　那天晚上，當(dāng)公主吃晚飯時(shí)，她聽到了一個(gè)聲音。王后打開了門。是青蛙！“晚上好，”他說。“我想讓公主成為我的朋友。她答應(yīng)過我的。”青蛙說。“我不能和一只又冷又濕的青蛙做朋友！””公主說。王后說：“一言為定。”
