2. Review:
Review the base sentences that they have learned and concern with the new knowledge:

3. Presentation:
1) Today we will learn M5 U1. Look at this picture, can you describe this picture?
e.g. Daming is playing the trumpet.
   The dog is dancing. 
(show the picture on P18, have the Ss describe the picture, learn “trumpet” first)
2) Let’s watch the video and answer this question, “Who is having a birthday party?”  (Present the question on the screen) have the Ss watch the video and answer the question.
【Help the Ss understand the dialog as a whole one.】
 2)Watch the first part and judge these sentences.
a. Only Daming’s family is at Daming’s birthday party.
b. Daming is playing his trumpet, but then the telephone rings.
3)Watch the third part and order these sentences.
a. But then more friends arrive.
b. He is playing his favourite song and everyone is listening and clapping.
c. Daming tries again.
d. Everyone says hello to them.
(Present the sentences on the screen) have the Ss watch the video and order the sentences.
3) Now let’s watch the video and complete the sentences.
a. This time, the door opens and ________runs in.
b. Now the dog is ________with the trumpet.
c. _________ says the dog is very clever.
(Have the Ss complete the sentences )
a. This time, the door opens and Simon’s dog runs in.
b. Now the dog is singing with the trumpet.
c. Everyone says the dog is very clever.

4. Practise:
1)Listen , point and find words ending in “_ing”.
2)    Listen , point and repeat.
3)  Read the dialog themselves.
5. Consolidation.
Finish the activity book of this part.
 
1. Warm up:
Enjoy an English poem on P21.
2. Review:
A.    Review all the new words of last lesson.

 Have the Ss read the text themselves.
C. Check the Ss’s oral English homework.

3. Presentation:
1)Look at this picture, who is having a birthday party. Yes, Daming is having a birthday party.
 (show on the Bb) read together and one by one.
2) Look at this picture. What is Daming doing? Yes, he is playing the trumpet. Look at the telephone, what happens to the telephone?
He is playing the trumpet, but then the telephone rings. (show on the Bb) read together and one by one.
4) Pair work
Have the Ss practise in pairs.

4. Practise:
1) Listen and repeat activity 2.
2) Finish activity 3 on P11.
What happens when you are doing these things.
I’m eating but then a friend comes.
I’m reading but then the telephone rings.
I’m running but then I feel thirsty.
I’m watching TV but then I fall asleep.
I am doing homework but then I feel hungry.
3) Pair work.
Have the Ss practise with their partners.

5. Consolidation:
 Finish the activity book of this part.
It’s nine o’clock in the morning. I am reading in bed. I don’t usually read in bed at nine o’clock in the morning. Usually, I get up at half six. But today I am ill. I am not getting up this morning. I ‘m going to stay in bed all day. Today, my mother gives me breakfast in bed. She doesn’t usually do this.
